Helen and Bud got jobs!

Quinn clarifies process.

Eric- How was the USW march?

Paul – it was great. It was militant. Police were not happy. We were taking the street. People were interested. There was lots of conversation. Despite the job they had to do, police knew we were right. It was a beautiful action.

At 1:07 pm about seven people were present and Helen Gerhardt started to put together an Agenda for using the three hours.   Large issues to look at were structures for decision-making and spaces needed for the movement.  Helen referred everyone to the website InterOccupy.org and the newsletter they produce. Rosemary McMullen and Carmon Elliott watched time. Rosemary and Jo Tavener took notes.

OWS Think Tank

OWS Think Tank guests Lily Defriend and Tim Weldon opened up the Incubator session with some remarks about what they’ve learned at OWS. 

Lily – Occupy Pittsburgh should continue to think about the camp site and what it means if it remains - and if it goes; Liberty Plaza was gone so quickly, without warning, but Occupy Pittsburgh has prep time to think about the current location and what options to consider in the event of eviction

Medic:

    Sunday 11/27 at 2pm there will be a workshop on winter survival and street first aid training. If you want to be certified, Curtis can do that for you.
    World AIDS Day on Thursday at the GLCC Building on Grant Street from 9am-9pm; free testing
    Mold issue in Medic Tent taken care of.
    Clean up after yourselves if you make a mess in the Porta-John

Announcements:

Dan from Food Group: Food Tent is being reorganized and cleaned, so if anyone can bring down hot prepared food for about 20 people at noon and 6 pm through Sunday 12/11, that would be helpful.

Helen from Camp: A session to be held from 9-noon at USW on 12/9/11 to instruct people in activism and nonviolent resistance; training useful if in stressful situation.  All are urged to come; there will be more sessions in the future.
